Jan provides vision, leadership, and innovative management to the Museum. In executive director positions and as a consultant, she has led organizations to create synergistic plans that radiate to better serve communities. Whether at the helm of a hands-on science center, a performing and visual arts space, a living history museum, or right here at DEA, Jan’s marketing acumen and keen intuition informs her inspired solutions and receptive leadership style. She considers it a true honor to lead the Museum.
Museums are special places of learning, but Jan also recognizes the crucial role they play in preserving our past, inspiring us, providing social and civic connections, and making our country stronger, together. With its interactive displays, acclaimed travelling exhibit, and meaningful educational programming, the DEA Museum accomplishes all of these things and more.
Jan believes it is incumbent on the Museum’s staff to engage our constituencies, including DEA employees, retired agents, tourists, area teachers, youth, parents, and all those who seek the bountiful knowledge and resources of DEA’s Museum and Community Outreach section. To accomplish the Museum’s goals, her mantra is collaboration, both locally and nationally. The travelling exhibit, Drugs: Costs and Consequences, is a high priority for the Museum as it evaluates new venues as partners around the country. The new DEA Museum is a beautiful and highly educational place, and she looks forward to welcoming all visitors, especially school children, to learn and enjoy.
