General Services
Foreign Language Accessibility – We’ve identified Tourient as a foreign language tour provider, and will work to provide tours in Spanish, Mandarin, and Korean, but are currently holding off on the purchase as we may not have the funding in FY26. If not, we will purchase it in FY27 (after the CR).
Access Services – All spaces at the Museum are ADA accessible. Individuals with special needs can make an appointment by contacting the Museum in advance at DEAMuseum@dea.gov or 202-307-3463.
Open Captioning – The DEA Museum provides open captioning on all videos.
Parking – The DEA Museum does not provide public parking. However, special access for mobility impaired individuals can be arranged by contacting the Museum in advance at DEAMuseum@dea.gov or 202-307-3463.
Restrooms – All restrooms have one accessible stall. There is one designated single stall family restroom near the Faces of Fentanyl Memorial Exhibit. View the restroom locations using our Museum Map.
Service Animals – Service Animals as defined by the Department of Justice are permitted on the museum grounds and in the building. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, and companion dogs and dogs in training to be service dogs are not considered service dogs under the guidelines of the ADA.
Public Programs – The DEA Auditorium, used for public programming, has accessible seating options. DEA provides ASL sign language interpreters for all public programs.

FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE LOW VISION
Guided Tour – A tour guide is available by appointment to provide a sighted guide/verbal description tour experience for up to 90 minutes. Please contact the Museum at DEAMuseum@dea.gov or (202) 307-3463 to make a reservation. Based on staff availability. Two weeks' notice is appreciated.

FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NEURODIVERSE
Morning at the Museum – Private Museum access from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday-Saturday by request. Two weeks' notice is appreciated. Appointments based on advance notice and staff availability.
Sensory Bags – The Museum does not offer sensory bags; however, visitors are welcome to bring their own equipment or materials.
Entrance Lines – Lines to enter the Museum are rare. In the case that there is a line, seating is available both in the exterior and interior of the Visitors Center.
Quieter Times – The Museum is small and can be noisy when there are a lot of people in it. However, there are often periods when there are few or no visitors in the Museum, making it very quiet. Visitation will vary depending on holidays, school vacation, weather, and other factors however the Museum is generally more crowded in the afternoon.
Sound levels in the Museum can vary depending on the time of day and time of year. Visitors are welcome to bring noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs with them on their visit.
VISITORS WITH MOBILITY DISABILITIES
Building Accessibility – The Museum is entered through the DEA Visitors Center, located in the courtyard off Army Navy Drive. The entrance is accessible; however, visitors must travel from the street to the Visitor Center. View the Visitor Center entrance at Google Maps or Citymapper.

Personal Mobility Devices – Patrons are welcome to use personal mobility devices such as wheelchairs, motorized scooters, and other power-driven mobility devices when visiting.
Wheelchairs – A wheelchair is available to borrow free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis. Please contact Museum staff at DEAMuseum@dea.gov or (202) 307-3463 to reserve or ask the guards in the Visitors Center to call Museum staff upon arrival.
