Drugs and You: Use Your Head Traveling Exhibit

The DEA Museum presents Drugs and You: Use Your Head, a traveling exhibit for use in public libraries to inform young people about drugs. The exhibit addresses teens and younger children by asking, "So what's the big deal about drugs?" Drugs and You: Use Your Head, provides information about different drugs and encourages teens to develop dreams for their future, engage in healthy activities, and build positive relationships.

Exhibit content is presented in a fact filled, non-threatening way. An appealing quasi-graphic novel design and information bubbles invite teens to explore exhibit content and QR codes. The QR codes connect with additional relevant and engaging information on exhibit topics through videos, written materials, and an interactive game.

The topics covered include marijuana, opioids, methamphetamine, cocaine, inhalants, vaping, prescription drugs, fake pills, fentanyl, addiction, avoiding peer pressure, and more.

Libraries can Make a Difference

Libraries are vital to a healthy society, promoting a sense of community, encouraging social discourse, and offering educational opportunities. They connect people to many types of educational information, provide safe environments for learning, and offer social opportunities for individuals to explore together. Because of all these functions, libraries are natural partners with the DEA Museum in our educational and preventative outreach initiatives and can help communicate this critical topic to teens and their families. We hope you will join our mission to educate young people about the dangers of drug abuse.

Pops Right Up

Drugs and You is a pop up, two-sided, three-dimensional exhibit approximately 8 feet high and 5 feet wide. A five-foot circumference surrounding the exhibit should be maintained for viewing and engagement. Visitors view additional content on their phones or tablets that are accessed through QR codes on each topic. DEA Museum staff provide venues with resource websites to obtain printed educational materials, as well as directions, logistical information, and more. Venues are required to host the exhibit for a minimum of two-months.
