DEA Special Agent Badge

​​​​​​Badges identify and confer authority to law enforcement officers. When DEA was established in 1973, its agents received this newly designed, gold-and-blue badge. An eagle representing the United States proudly sits atop the badge’s sunburst-shaped body, firmly grasping an olive branch and arrows signifying the federal government’s authority over peace and war. In the badge’s center is information identifying its owner as a DEA special agent. Each badge is numbered, and agents will have the same badge throughout their careers.
