Foreign-deployed Advisory & Support Team (FAST) & Kabul Country Office (KCO) Memorial Dedication
On September 4, 2025, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) unveils a permanent memorial in tribute to the ten brave men who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our mission.
This solemn occasion honors the lives lost on October 26, 2009, when three DEA Special Agents and seven U.S. military personnel were killed in the line of duty following a successful counter-narcotics mission in Farah Province, Afghanistan.
They served as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, focused on destroying terrorist networks like the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, whose narcotics trafficking funded the 9/11 attacks.
We gather to reflect, to remember, and to express our gratitude for their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service to our country.
We will never forget.
