A Life of Service: Harry Jacob Anslinger
Born to immigrant parents of modest means, Harry Jacob Anslinger ran the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN) for more than 30 years. He rose from railroad worker, to the consular service at the State Department, to commissioner of DEA's predecessor agency in little more than a decade. He served five presidential administrations and led the FBN through the Great Depression, World War II, and the Cold War. Examine a trove of artifacts and photographs from Anslinger's historic career in this interactive online exhibit.
